About

James Fowler has been an adjunct professor at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ University since January 2025, teaching courses on criminal justice. He enjoys bringing his real-world experiences into the classroom to help students connect theory to practice.

Before teaching, James joined the FBI and was assigned to work on both criminal and national security investigations by identifying investigative leads and potential criminal associates utilizing analysis and classified technology. James also worked with the FBI Tactical Operations Center (TOC) which provided on scene logistical support for the SWAT team. James deployed to high-profile situations and was responsible for developing pre-operational briefings and real-time tracking of information for events which included the Boston bombing, long-term fugitive apprehensions and other prominent national events. James retired as a member of the FBI intelligence division assigned to the New York field office.

Prior to the FBI, James served in the NYPD and retired as a Sergeant assigned to various patrol precincts for fourteen of his twenty years of service. He also instructed recruits in police science and conducted in-service defensive tactics training for patrol officers and plain clothes units. Additionally, James lectured various state and foreign police officials regarding NYPD tactics and procedures.
