About

Professor Wilson is the Associate Dean for the Pre and Post-Licensure nursing programs within the School of Nursing.  Her area of interest in teaching include medical-surgical, health assessment and pharmacology.

I have tried to impart to the students I have worked with the lessons that I learned in early in my career at one of the first magnet hospitals in the country.

Own your patients/clients, they are yours- not the nurse practitioner's, hospitalist, fellow, physician, your assessment will save a life and consequentially, if you do not assess- you will lose one, your advocacy changes patients outcomes, and safe client centered outcomes requires constant attention to evidence based research and life-long learning.

  • Medical surgical I and II
  • Health Assessment
  • Pharmacology

Research interests are currently in the use of exam wrappers as a metacognitive tool to affect students studying strategies and improve academic performance.  Additionally, the use of the Anatomage table to improve student's understanding in health assessment.
